Good Points

Small size and ease of transporting/storing. Reasonably quiet. Powerful enough for most domestic/DIY use

Bad Points

None really - its a basic machine which does what it says on the tin. My only ever problem was starting it after being laid up for a long time - but that was more my fault than anything else. (See below)

General Comments

This generator was bought in case of emergency due to domestic power cuts. On delivery I got it going to make sure it was ok, and foolishly then stored it in the garage, with petrol still in the tank and carburettor. About a couple of years later I decided to take it on a camping trip, but it would not start. The petrol had evaporated, and the oil residue clogged up the carb. (Yes I know, the book says drain out all the petrol out when laying it up, but who reads the book?) Having established the cause, to fix it I put a little 2 stroke mixture into a hand spray gun, removed the air cover and gave two squirts down the carb air intake. It fired up immediately, but died after a few seconds. Repeating this process a few times eventually cleared the carb, and it now works fine. Moral of the story:- do not stop by switching off the little electrical switch on the side. Instead turn off the petrol and let it run the carb. dry.
