Poor customer service. Have no thoughts for customers just themselves.


General Comments

We have used Hastings for years, never had to claim or anything so always been fine. We changed our car and called to say that we needed to change the insurance over, could they send out amended insurance certificate a.s.a.p. as we needed to tax the vehicle. After 5 days of not receiving the certificate I phoned them and asked what they were going to do. My husband needed to go to work that day and we had no tax? They said nothing!! I said fine I'll cancel the policy and tax it up with a Broker so I can get a cover note today. They said fine, there's nothing outstanding, end of. Sorted, bought new insurance, called Hastings back to request proof of no claims and they then told me that we owe them £72.50. What?? I told them I had been told the account was clear. We owed them money and they would not release proof until we paid up. Whichever policy I cancelled we were going to loose money and the larger amount would be if I cancelled Hastings. What a way to keep your customers. We have to stay with them for now, but there is no way they will get my business next year and I will not recommend them to anyone!!!!
