Good Points

Car in decent condition generally, although supplied with a duff battery.
Not too expensive.
Maps and guides provided in car.


Bad Points

Car broke down with a flat battery one evening.
Car not waiting for us at airport.
Car finally arrived with no child seat.
Agent was a bit rude to me.
Have to pay for half a tank of petrol and return it with an empty tank - almost impossible to do so company always benefits.


General Comments

We arrived at the airport to find that the Poppy Cars agent was not waiting for us - we called and was told "my wife is on her way". She turned up and took us to the car park, but car was not there. Car finally arrived, minus the requested child seat (our youngest is 2). The husband (for it was he who brought the car) said "No problem, hop in and follow me and we'll fit it for you when we get there". Not only is it illegal for a child to travel without a car seat, but, there is no way I would be prepared to take the risk. I said to him that I was not prepared to jeopardise my child's safety - he just looked at me strangely and said that he would get a seat brought.

The seat finally arrived, was fitted and we were ready to go but there was no parking ticket to get out of the car park. We had to wait another ten minutes to get this.

To top it all, the woman turned to my husband (who was stood right next to me) and made a comment about me to him, which I thought was rude.

Although the vehicle was generally fine (apart from breaking down one evening after we'd been out to to a restaurant, forcing us to get a taxi home. In fairness, they did get it fixed straight away the next morning - had to fit a new battery.) I would not use them again.
