Was automatically signed up for phone replacement scheme, opt-out option was on back side of a monthly bill (who ever looks there?)
Cancelled contract end of may, gave credit card details to pay off last month of contract before they cancel contract. They kept the credit card details and continued to charge it monthly.
General Comments
Firstly I was "automatically" signed up for "the phone replacement scheme" after 3 months i found the opt-out on the back of a bill i received.
Secondly I asked for a PAK code end of may to move my number else where, tried to use PAK code and new operator couldn't take it cause they had given me a new number. Next noticed that Cellular Operations were still charging me monthly, rang up to ask why they said have to give 30 days notice. When i spoke when i requested the PAK code i was told contact would be cancelled in 30 days, whether i used it or not. I wrote them a letter demanding that they close my account, they replied saying pay the outstanding balance (£19) and the account will be closed. So I rang up and paid off the balance. 10 Days later i notice that they have charged my credit card again, for yet another months line rental. I rang up to ask what they were doing, turns out contract isn't cancelled.. operator then put me thru to the cancellations department which were shut (Nice of her to check). Will continue to send letters, have threatend legal action and have reported Cellular Operations to OFTEL and the resale divison of Vodafone. I'd advice anyone with similar problems to do the same.
