Good Points

It has cool glass panels on the oven doors. It is not a heavy cooker to move.

Bad Points

There is very little burner adjustment. If the burners are turned down the system the gas control develops an annoying high pitched noise. To turn a burner off you have to turn it through the maximum heat setting. You cannot see which knob controls which burner because the markings are under the knobs which obscure the information. On our cooker the main oven heat settings are inaccurate, to obtain a regular 5 heat setting you have to set the control at 6.5. Because things were taking a long time to cook we had to buy a an oven temperature indicator to set the oven heat correctly.

General Comments

We are on our second cooker in six weeks, on the original cooker the oven cooling fan didn't work for the first two weeks and then needed replacement. We were not impressed by the Cannon (Hotpoint) service engineer who had little knowledge of this particular product. We also had to contact Cannon a second time to get some action taken after the service engineer's visit. We do not find this appliance user friendly. There are cheaper, better designed and much better quality stainless cookers available than this one.
We wished that we had looked further before buying another Cannon.

I agree with this review because... I am having the same problems with the ovens taking a long time to cook food - in some cases double the guide line times. Have also had engineeer out but he assured me the ovens do reach correct temp and suggested I was not leaving them on long enough before adding food (untrue) but still food not cooking!! Engineer said ovens are not insulated now, like my old New World Plan 6 which I had for 18 years without a problem unfortunately no longer available. Also the Chesterfield control knobs for the hob are obscured as you rightly state. Found that the four pan stands on the hob are flimsy and move when saucepans are added or taken off if not very careful.

Further to my previous comment. Both of our new Cannon C60GTX cookers suffered from the same fault. Cooling fans which were noisy, one of which did not work at delivery. Ovens that did not reach operating temperature because of a known existing assembly fault on the oven vent flap. Both our cookers took over half an hour to warm up, they never reached the set cooking temperature and what they did cook was burned at the back and undercooked at the front. Do not accept this cooker if it does not work properly from day one. We now have an Electrolux EKG6047XN which is a good replacement and works properly.
