General Comments

I bought one of the KL-B3 rifles, it came soaked in oil so I cleaned it. The barrel doesn't sit in the barrel channel this is because the stock mounting hole was drilled about .125" off center. The workings of the rifle are not very well finished. The rifle will need much fitting before it is servicable. For the money but an Industry Brand or a Hercules.

I disagree with this review. I have two KL-3B rifles (and quite a few others). I find the KL3B a fine rifle for casual shooting. It's attractive, has moderate power - enough for most purposes - and is remarkably inexpensive. Yes, the trigger pull is pretty hard when you get it, but it smooths out with use, or with a little tinkering with a stone and some lube. And yes, it doesn't have the worlds best metal finish, but then it's not horrible either, and you aren't paying four figures for it either. I have two, and have just ordered one more. 'Nough said?

Fast Deer has a cult following. There are so many sites dedicated to tweaking, upgrading and squeezing every little drop of power you can out of this gun. I have one and its definately something else. It seems to me like all of these things have the trigger placed a damn inch too far forward to get any kind of a comfortable grip on it. The finish does suck and it sucks on them all. I dont know of any Chinese gun that has a decent finish on it. To be honest I think you would be hard pressed to find one thats actually gone through any kind of QC other than cocking the gun and shooting it. On the lighter side these things can be had for $24.95 and work out pretty good for someone looking to get into springer guns and maybe learn the mechanics of them for tweaking, repairing and general airgun education. They aren't at all for hunting nor are they for target shooting. I've personally bought a little stock of these guns to refinish (if at all possible due to cracks and wood flaws), tuning and breaking in for resale. Its really just educational for me and allows me to hone my mechanical skills.
