Wide and bright 17" screen
Full keyboard with separate numeric keypad
Sturdy encasing and steady running so far
Integrated Webcam with microphone
Recovery software offers multiple options (very handy and practical)
4 USB ports + various others distributed around
Good choice of software supplied
HP software upgrades available online
HP technical support very good via email
Came with Vista which I found very slow to load (takes up to 1.5 minutes) but been advised by HP technical support that this model would not run properly if loaded with XP instead.
Smudgy screen and surface (HP does provide a free cleaning cloth - every little helps!)
Webcam only accessible via HP's Quickplay software which is slow and seriously lacks in control and navigation features (a 143MB upgrade is available but have not been successful at downloading it. Not sure whether its my broadband connection or something else - e.g. although I select save as opposed to install when downloading, HP Quickplay will interrupt the download if closed.
Webcam microphone does not record. (I have not contacted HP support yet)
CD/DVD Drawer on right side. Inconvenient if you are a right handed mouse user!
Have had this for only 3 months but it looks like something that will last.
