Good Points

The 124 suited my needs, i.e. travel lounges, cheaper currency converter and travel insurance. High cost (275 pounds) but offset by cash-back.


Bad Points

Major delays in issuing cards - the first took 4 - 6 weeks after application. You cannot change your pin except by post. I did this, and after 2 months I had not received replacement cards, despite several phone calls resulting in assurances that they were on their way.

My last call resulted in the information that they had issued the card 2 weeks previously and given the non receipt the card should be cancelled. On trying to pay with the original card this was denied, and upon phoning MS I found both cards (the original and the non received ones) had been stopped. Thus, I cannot use any credit card. They say another card will be issued in 7 - 10 days, but in my experience this simply does not transpire. Express delivery is not offered. On top of this, the service is diabolical - nice customer service people, but totally unable to do anything constructive, and senior management and supervisors were unavailable or disinterested.


General Comments

The Morgan Stanley Credit Card appeals to businessmen who travel abroad a lot. The benefits etc can be attractive for some, but beware. If you lose the card or whatever, anywhere, you could be left absolutely high and dry without a card for interminable periods. Frankly, it is too risky to rely on. Only use the card if you have an alternative at hand to use.
