Good Points

We booked late 4 adults and 4 kids. All inclusive was great, we were offered an apartment on arrival which worked well for us. Having 2 different pool areas was good. No complaints about the food it was excellent with lots of choice. I enjoy a drink and the local beer served at the bar was nice as was the sangria. Service at the hotel was good. We really enjoyed our week and thought we had very good value for money.


Bad Points

The hotel is a little dated but clean and tidy. The coach transfer from Palma is more like 2 hours, not 50 minutes as we were told. We found the kids entertainment for the 5 years and under to be disappointing with about 20 minutes for the mini disco each night, although there seems to be lots more going on for older children. The 2 main beaches are about 20 minutes walk away. There is a beach close to the hotel but you have to walk down a very steep path to get to it.


General Comments

The Sol Balmoral was a good value hotel. It needs a bit of modernising but we all had a good holiday. It was the first time we had been all inclusive and I thought the food, drinks, and the service might be a little below standard but this proved not to be the case. I would recommend this hotel but you should be aware that it is a little dated. As a group with young children we thought the entertainment for the children could be improved as they didn't allocate enough time in our opinion.

    We have just returned after staying for 10 nights at the Hotel Sol Balmoral in Calas de Mallorca. We had a ball, including the 2 kids aged 6 and 4. We read the reviews just before we went, and we were a little worried. However, the rooms were clean and tidy, and the food was nice. The hotel does need a bit of modernisation, but who cares as long as it's clean? The entertainment was a bit poor, but as long as the kids were happy we were happy. We met a lovely couple from Liverpool, who also had 2 kids.

    We would we go back to the Sol Balmoral yes.
