I bought a Dyson 04 many yeas ago and although it is very heavy have found it to be long lasting and reliable. However , having just purchased a DC03 wish I knew then what I have found out now, having just bough the DC03. It is marvellous. Light weight, lies flat for cleaning under cupboards and beds. Quiet. Easy and light to push around. Much lighter to use than the DC18...which I nearly bought. I gather it is no longer available and I seriously think Dyson should reconsider taking the DC03 off the market because its the only one that lies flat. I tried the DC18 and found it difficult to manouvre...the weight seems to be in the handle and very heavy.
Bad Points
Would be perfect if it had edge brushes.
General Comments
Once again I think Dyson should not take this style off the market or at least remodel it with side brushes for edge cleaning.

This is the reason I opted for the Dyson DC03. It's a mean looking machine, but very stylish and innovative. The handle on this Dyson can be separated from the main body to use as the 'hose and wand'.
