Good Points

Everything - totally recommended and totally enjoyable. Our guide was exceptional and passionate about the subject he was 'teaching' us in. Nothing was to much for him. Staff on board fantastic (85 in total). Where else would you get two changes of towels a day and rooms cleaned twice a day.

Bad Points

Only the locals at each stop hassling you to buy from them - but barter. Your guide will advise you which is a good buy or not and will help you get the best price. We found saying 'no money' or 'no hassle' worked - they were very pleasant anyway with no aggression in them whatsoever.

General Comments

What a trip on board of the MS Emilio! Early mornings though, but well worth it. Abu Simbel worth the extra and the only regret that I had is that I didn't go on the balloon ride which apparently was fantastic. Libra have got it right with the early starts as you avoid the temperature at midday, when you were always back on board cruising the Nile and resting. Entertainment was very good and the idea of a camera man following you around during your trip taking a video of the whole holiday was great - only £18 plus an additional CD of over 1000 pictures of the temples and tombs. Most places let you take pictures and only the inside of tombs were not permitted on our trip. No videos in the Valley of the Kings though. Take plenty of small change (Egyptian) to tip outside the boat i.e. 5 or 10 Egyptian pounds. Hairdryers in the rooms and beach towels provided on board so no need to take these. The vapourisers on the top deck are great and really keep you cool. The Egyptians are wonderful, friendly and honest - there was always a smile wherever you went which is more that I can say about our arrival back in Manchester (miserable english bunch!).
