MrVent's Review of Motorola V3

Overall Rating
- Value for money

To review this phone is simple. If you want the best looking phone around and only have a few numbers in your phonebook then this is the phone for you.
Bad Points
If you have 40-50 numbers (not names - numbers) then the abysmal phone book will drive you crazy as it incredibly old fashioned. We got two of these as an upgrade for the business - they are going back as the phonebook is not fit for purpose. Appearance wise this phone has no peers, functionally it is a toy.
General Comments
Why? The question that I keep asking myself over and over again after buying this phone. The only answer I find is that it looks good. The OS is the worst that I have ever seen. Why didn't Motorola just stick command line prompt in there instead, would probably be easier to navigate. The phone is slow. I could get to almost any menu position in under 5 seconds on Nokia, on here it takes forever and a day. It also lacks video recording! Why? The lower model V620 has video capture but the more expensive, very expensive, V3 has no such feature, only the bog standard camera. This thing also eats battery power for breakfast. The keypad lights and stuff cut out, but this is supposed to happen. There is a light sensor above the keypad that detects if you need the backlight switched on or not. Nifty idea, sometimes gets it wrong though. I'll be taking mine back though, not really impressed as the looks spend their time in my pocket, while the functionality spends its time in my nightmares.
