General Comments

I bought this e-Machines 770 second hand for my son so that I could get him off my own computer. Unfortunately the previous owner had left it with their own passwords etc. still in place and had changed a lot of the settings which made it run slower than it should. I managed to locate recovery CDs, including Windows XP home from gennersales.com which contained a ghost image of the original setup. This put the machine back to its factory state and everything ran much faster. It took a while to download all the Windows XP home patches but at least it is now in a clean state.

It doesn't run some of the intensive graphics on PC games but it is perfectly adequate as a second computer for the kids. It can play DVD movies and is fine connecting to my son's Samsung mobile phone to download photos and MP3s. I have also connected my digital camera via USB to download photographs. We have it connected to the internet via a Linksys wireless adapter and it works fine.

Doesn't seem a bad buy now but without the recovery CDs it would have been completely useless.
