Good Points

The box worked for a while and it did record programmes

Bad Points

The box has been nothing but trouble since it first went wrong. Fusion Digitech and its parent Beko just don't care. It is just a temperamental piece of ornamental clutter.

General Comments

I have had mains power adaptor replaced, then the box was sent away for a replacement. The £50 - plus £9.50 to send it back - re-furbished replacement arrived and just never worked. Contacted Digifusion and was on hold for about 30 minutes listening to Musak. ("HOLD" is what they are famous for by the way as the display on the box constantly says "Hold" but will do nothing else) Finally got to speak to someone who told me I would get a "doorstep replacement". A doorstep would have been more use!
The replacement arrived, worked for about eight hours before reverting to "hold" again. Told Fusion Digitech after long hold on phone again. Told them If they would collect this box and give the £50 = £9.50 P&P back, they could keep the box. They would have then have had my original box for free. "No can do" they said. So I am awaiting yet another doorstep replacement. These boxes go back and forth like a fiddlers elbow. I will contact Trading Standards. I have just three months warranty on this refurbished box (Although I'm sure they said 12 months before I exchanged it) It will have been out of commission for half that time if things continue this way and no guarantee that it won't pack up completely after the three months.

thanks for your time and trouble writing presumably to warn rest of us but could hardly blame you if you did it to spite DigiFusion!
did any anyone at DigiFusion profer any explanation as to source of fault?
    hardware or firmware?

Actually, the issue was finally resolved when the company sent a new replacement for the box which was the newer model. They replaced it with a FVRT 200. I am still not sure whether this was response to my frequent threats and complaints to them or whether it was just an error on their part. True to form, it was not accompanied by any sort of explanation.

I am still not clear why the previous model is so troublesome, but I just know that it is. There has been no problem with the newer model replacement and so far it is behaving splendidly well. I don't know whether to congratulate the company on this solution because, as I say, I'm not sure it was intentional.

Best of luck to anyone else with the same problem, and my advice is to be persistent.
