Look great, modern styling, Subaru style bonnet vent, sequential gearbox, perfect weight balance, boot space.
Too heavy, seating position with uprated gearbox.
I bought a last of the line 2001 HKS Edition GTI-R with optional "Greddy" tuning package. Standard power for these cars is around 220bhp, but mine rolled out of the factory with 400bhp on standard boost. To cope with the extra power I asked Nissan to fit a Nissan Skyline GT-R gearbox, which also means they had to modify the seating position.
The standard clutch is doing fine so far, and I'm finding the standard breaks to be brilliant. I'm still not sure what oil I should be using, but a friend of mine recommended Magnatec so I've been using that. 0-60 is around 3 seconds, and it does a quarter mile in less than 10 seconds.
Apparently you are supposed to use super plus supermarket fuel in these cars as it is more reliable.
Next steps are to increase the boost to 1 bar, which should see me at around 550bhp.
