Good Points

Power is fantastic in any gear, riding position is comfy ,so you can ride all day.
Design and style is the best.

Bad Points

Alloy is a bit iffy - mine's 02 with 18k miles and it's starting to corrode on engine casings.

General Comments

After a twenty year break from bikes I bought a 1979 GS850, probably the best restored bike in the country, with only 7,300 miles on the clock. After 5 years I traded the GS, for my 02 XJR. It's the grey and black version. When riding this beast, bearing in mind my previous bikes, I find it totally exhilarating and love every minute of it. I've rode it up to 125 mph and then backed off, I wonder, what its top speed is? Compared to the GS it handles fantastic and has improved my riding capabilities. Best mpg's is 50 worst is 30, but who's bothered any way. Only addition is a belly pan which looks great. Riding to Scotland this weekend can't wait.
