On the surface, Vonage appears to be a brilliant service, offering land line quality calls at absurdly competitive rates. The online administration page seems to have everything you could want for administering your account. But it stops there.
Bad Points
Vonage's call quality is abysmal. When I first signed up there was no soft phone option and the DTA converter was locked without offering us access to tweak the settings. The customer service is awful - they literal beg you every step of the way to put up and shut up without actually sorting anything. Trialling this with a small business was a nightmare. Everything was just done so slowly!
General Comments
Just don't bother with Vonage. Find a provider local to your country. And read your Vonage contract very very very carefully. When I tried to cancel my account before the 30 day money back guarantee I was forced to call at least 5 times before I actually got through to someone who would listen. And each call I was battered by someone assuring me I don't need to leave the service and they can fix it so I am satisfied, which I clearly wasn't. I had to keep re-iterating this. It was awful. Do not let this company take your hard earned money.
