As you've all heard a thousand times this bike has great fuel economy and is extremely reliable and "is a great first time bike". I agree, I believe this bike is for the sensible person who isn't too bothered about the thrill of holding on for dear life and more bothered about how much money they have in their back pocket after they've finished their long day at work. If your looking for a 125 to practice on before you take your test then great, that's exactly what I did, as I didn't want to be branded an idiot by buying an RS 125 and looking daft. Now the ultra reliable CG125 could jump the grand canyon and live to tell the tale... but is it really reliable as they say? Honda, what a fantastic company, well known for producing products which will be around when Kieth Richards finally throws in the towel. The opinion I got from the CG was that the only thing bullet-proof about the bike, was its engine. Yes it will sit at 50 until it's tyres look like they were made by the cheese string company, but if you try an take it to the max...which I often did, then it sounded like a man trying to give birth. Now I've had the bike around 4 months and just as I needed the bike the day before my motorbike test, the clutch cable snaps... typical! Yes, I know what your thinking, the owner didn't look after it, he was too busy using the cable to floss his teeth rather than worry about what it was being used for, but no the cable was oiled and only 3 years old....now that's reliable. I'm not saying that this happens to every cg (maybe I'm just unlucky), but thats not the only thing, the part on my cg which really did my head in was the gear shifter. Picture this...your sitting at traffic lights, bikes in neutral, green light comes on, kick it into first gear, neutral light goes off and then it decides it doesn't like first gear and goes back to neutral so I look daft revving my bike and I'm in neutral...this happened every time...yes fairly annoying. Right, enough bad mouthing towards the cg, the thing I found the best about the cg was how stable it was, it felt like you couldn't fall off if you tried (figure of speech) so to a LEARNER I would recommend it, its a great bike to pass your test on. Anyway I've passed my test so now I'm selling my cg (which by the way is the best bike in the world). Thanks for reading.
