Tech support was good when I had a hardware problem
Bad points are I cannot record any channel I want on to my VHS or DVD recorder because of some kind of copy block flag. From my understanding the copyright law is as long as you do not copy and sell the movie or show you are allowed to copy for your own personal uses. Amazing that my DVD recorder and VHS is a large paper weight when it comes to recording, so much for convenience of taking a recording and viewing it on my laptop while I'm travelling. I'm seriously thinking about getting rid of Time Warner Cable or at the least will down size to regular cable. Moreover, digital cable with TW breaks up on the picture quality sometimes for hours or days either when viewing a channel or recorded a channel to their box. Another bad thing is all those channels they give you rotate from HBO to Cinemax to TV in a very short time and the paid movies take forever to arrive so a person does not have to pay extra for them. In addition, why does a person need all those channels if they are going to rotate quickly anyway among the HBO, Cinemax, and TV, meaning anywhere you go a short time later you either find it again somewhere either and have less choices because of the rotation back and forth among the mentioned three, plus off and on they give a truck load of old movies that I cannot stand due to a lack of reality in filming. I really believe TW is a waste of my hard earn dollar because of these reasons.
I would of like to have known my purchase of a DVD recorder a year ago would have been able to record any channel on Time Warner (HBO, Cinemax, or any Digital Programs shows, news...). I thought it was the recorder having a problem but it looks like now it was TW blocking flexibility. However, when I first got TW cable I could record but after much research found out they changed on what a person could record, but not any longer, it seems many other people are upset about the same thing based on reading blogs and forum postings. In addition, it would have been nice to know the recording box Time Warner supplies is not really need but another way of getting $8.00 more dollar monthly out of its subscribers. Moreover, it would have been nice if they quoted me the right price when I first got the service instead of finding out two months later it was not $130.00 a month but $180.00 for the 2000 programming. So much for Time Warner... I think everyone should drop TW premium features and see if they don't get back to allowing us to use our VHS and DVD recorders for our own person use in being more flexible, if not they need to come way down on their prices for the combo packs and individual packages. I would never recommend them to a friend of an enemy.
