Taxi's are cheap and there are plenty of them to take you into town.
The Blue Star Apartments are in an OK location, it was only a short walk to the Europa centre at the top of the hill where there were bars, restaurants, shops, arcades etc.

The bar at the apartments closes at 6pm and there is no entertainment of any sort.
The apartments themselves were very basic and very dated if you are planning to go and make your own teas a couple of nights, you won't be able to. You can hire a toaster for 12 Euros a week and a fan for 30 Euros.

Prices are reasonable in the shopping centres and the food is nice in the restaurants, although when eating at a restaurant sit inside rather than on the terrace as there are a lot of flies about.

We saw loads of cockroaches at the apartments and out on the streets.

If you are going to Gran Canaria, I strongly recommend going to the Las Vegas legends in Maspalomas, it is 55 Euros and well worth every cent.

I would personally never go back to Gran Canaria.
