A fair stab at a dying breed (enjoyable action movies), useful performance from Willis's sidekick

Touted as the best since the original, it underwhelmed me on all the key elements. The pace is furious but lacks tension, Willis was an unlikely hero 20 yrs ago, this year he looks rotten, tepid bad guys, the sort of Eurotrash who end up in Jason Stathams rubbish and ultimately a plot that Van Damme would have turned down as trite and unconvincing.

My comments may appear harsh but I judge all modern action flicks against John Mctiernans original (the benchmark in popcorn cinema), and this simply disappointed me.
