Good Points

This guitar has a wonderful neck and the hardware (bridge, machine heads) installed with it is good.

Bad Points

-The pickups suck because of constantly buzz, thus making the beast terrible to record with.
-The price is uncalled for. You can pick up an old Yamaha RX series for $200 and it will be a better bass.
-Some mods are only suited for American J.B.'s (eg pickguards) and thus wont properly fit the Mexican variant.

General Comments

If you insist upon not saving your money and getting an American Jazz bass, then you're not thinking straight. This is because the Highway 1 lineup is just slightly more money, which makes these basses redundant. I had paid more than $600 when I got it and now I have to lay down another $180 for half-decent pickups!! As a recording engineer told me recently "Jesus Miles, go buy a real bass!".
