Local, as we were visiting family (8 of us) in Hoshiarpur, Punjab, and saved us at least half a days travel from Delhi and was picked up by my Mama who lives in Jullander (down the road really).
Bad Points
You still had to walk from the plane to the terminal building, although not bad in Itselg, just imagine arriving in the monsoon season...wet , wet, wet comes to mind.
They called this the Arrivals, my god more like survival!! Can you imagine 300 people, their luggage and another plane on their heels!!! 10 minutes behind, one toilet, mosquitoes, heat and the very, very slow check in desks. It doesn't matter how many people are arriving, they just work at the same pace... and all those poor people waiting in the unbearable heat....aaagh!!
General Comments
They now call this an international airport, but it is far from it, as they have no shops in the terminal building, very few rest areas, parking outside is non existent, Hotel(s), taxis, local transport?? Sorry, what's that?? And staff who behave/act like the military. Who do they think are paying their wages?? It's not the local government. It's the like of you and me and they can't even give us a decent airport. International?? The only thing International about Amritsar Airport is the people going through the terminal.
