Good Points

3x optical zoom, easy to use menu system, brightness wheel for adjusting the screen

Bad Points

Bulky, over-enthusiastic CF eject mechanism

General Comments

The Kodak DC240 (and 240i) has a 1.3 megapixel CCD, capable of photos that are 1280x960 pixels. These can be enlarged to give 8x6 prints without much loss of quality. The zoom is extremely fast to respond, and for a camera in this price range, to have a 3x optical zoom is quite something. The camera is extremely easy to use, with a highly intuitive menu system and quick access buttons on the top of the camera for flash modes and focus.
Lens quality is good, with excellent flare control, and the flash gives more natural tones than my Coolpix 800. At this price point, there is very little competition.

Should anyone be still interested in a review of this aged camera, I have now enjoyed taking 4,500 photos with my DC240 and still rate it very highly. It has been easy to use and has performed excellently.
One thing I wonder about, does the flash eventually wear out?
