General Comments
I recently tried to transfer to Barclays from my current bank due to poor service, however should not have wasted my time. I went into one branch with my wife with all our ID but was told they couldn't open an account there, so arranged an appointment at another branch near my work. I went and was told that they could not open a joint account because we both weren't there even though the other branch had seen proof. I opened a single account and they gave me a form to make it a joint one which we returned the next day and they lost the form. We sent another form and then heard nothing, when I rang I was told that my wife was not allowed a connect card, and as such because it was a joint account the had to take mine off me! I pointed out she had guarantee cards on our current joint account and on her own account and they then said if I brought them in as proof she could have one!
No letters stating what was happening only when I go into the branch and ask, wrote a complaint letter four weeks ago and have heard nothing. Account closed!!
