General Comments
I have a 15yr old Crossman 2200w, and haven't had any stock problems (yet - getting worried now!). Mine is a practical, maintenance - free, everything gun. It is used for everything from dispatching injured frogs my lawnmower's chewed up and the occasional bumble bee for target practice, to rabbits pigeons and crows. I like the fact that it only cost me 40 quid, you can leave it pumped all day when you're hunting, its totally recoilless, and if you get hung up on barbed wire climbing over a fence you can drop it, pick it up, wipe it off, and carry on. I wouldn't like to drop my Webley Raider. The .22 isn't my preferred calibre, but I have to say the big pellet seeme to hit very hard indeed, and even with flat headed matchpells will go clean through a magpie at closer range - admittedly taking most of the bird with it! The only problem is the impact noise is actually louder than the discharge of the gun, a benefit I believe of the barrel shroud. I am about to fit a silencer incidentally, so it'll be interesting to see how much difference it makes. Sorry to you folks over the pond who aren't allowed to. The gun is light enough to carry anywhere, and I particularly like the fact that I can use it in my garden with just a few pumps to plink, or safely dispatch nasties at close range. My Raiders lovely, but always makes me come over all serious when I'm shooting it; the 2200 just makes me grin all day as I sling it about the fields.

Crosman models 38T, 357 and 1357 frequently have the serial number hidden under the grip. The grip can be removed easily, as only a spring clip holds it on the C02 cartridge.
