General Comments

I've had the Philips HDD120 for about 3 years. It's worked alright as a music listening device, but the software is a train wreck next to just about any other program and the limiter on the maximum volume makes hearing many songs difficult in any noisy environment like the subway. Also annoying is periodic pauses in playback, I guess when the memory reboots. Battery life has dwindled to a rather useless 3-4 hours or so.
The up side is the line-in recording. Though it seems to have skipping problems at the 192kbps setting, the 128kbps works pretty well - though you still may get some recording skips that I suppose are directly related to the playback memory-skip problem. Still it has been invaluable at band rehearsal for getting song ideas and being able to e-mail them out to everyone to listen back and reference.
