  • Where Did You See It?

    Director - Hayao Miyazki
Good Points

Usual amazing animation (especially scenery) from master animator Miyazaki. And a great story.

Bad Points

On the newer English version - James van de Beek!!

General Comments

Wonderful flying machines all around (I think Miyazaki has an obsession due to an uncle making airplanes or similar) and very cool panaramas.
A young boy - Pazu, catches a young girl - Sheeta who drifts down from the sky (by way of a magical necklace) into the quarry where he is working. Pazu has to try and keep her safe whilst on the run from both the military and a gang of pirates whilst trying to find a mythical floating castle/city (Laputa).
A suggestion would be; if you watch it with the kids have the English on, if you watch it with adults use the subtitles and Japanese soundtrack (I'm sure the music is better - less 'Disney-ised) so it is not ruined by Dawson!!! A slight warning for younger kids, there are a few guns blasting in this film!
