The EELL is really the only gun like it in its class i.e. very nice engraving, side plated, well figured wood, all for under £3500 approx. The gun is a good fit for an off the peg gun - the dimensions will fit most people. The 30 inch sporter is probably the best one to go for; as I found it good for both clays and game. Also, the resale value will be slightly better on this one. The gun comes in a good quality case with accessories and enough chokes to suit most people.
No real major bad points. Although, I did have a slight problem with the ejectors making a clicking noise when fully opened and the top lever slightly dragged on the wood which had to be sorted out. I think Beretta in general need to improve their quality control across the board.
I like my Beretta EELL and I certainly have no regrets buying it. The gun is often admired by fellow colleagues, and my clay pigeon shooting has certainly improved. If you are considering buying one of these try to see more than one gun as the grain on the stocks vary quite considerably. I was lucky enough to find a very nice dark well grained stock.
Good luck and enjoy!
