General Comments

A neighbour crashed his car into our next door (semi-detached) neighbour's front wall. This has affected our wall, which as a consequence is visibly bent/warped. Halifax have been dragging their pencils over this claim since 2 Feb 2007. Nothing has been done except them sending an assessor who 'apparently' reported that there was no damage to the property. The surveyor who assessed next door's damage, correctly determined that the whole of the front of both properties will have to come down to fix the damage. Halifax sent another 'expert' along who also reported that there was no problem with our wall. BTW I have only found all this out today, after nigh on 6 months of arranging them on a weekly basis on their 0845 line. This claim is apparently closed. I have asked for all the documentation to be sent so that we can mount a case against them. Any building surveyor would see that warp which would immediately be flagged up if we would sell the property. Halifax, whilst very nice and apologetic on the phone, will not move this on. I await to see if they'll send me the documentation - somehow I doubt it. I have had some previous 'experiences' with RBoS and none of them positive. They are on my black list of companies that I will not EVER deal with or buy products from. Alas, the original insurance company was taken over by Royal Bank of Scotland.
