Good Points

None, other than their ATMs seem to work just like any other.


Bad Points

Appalling level of customer service.


General Comments

Tried transferring mini-cash ISA from Nationwide to Kent Reliance around 19th June. Nationwide sent letter saying my account was closed 6th July and cheque sent to KR. KR never received the cheque. Have made dozens of futile calls to Nationwide Electra House Helpdesk trying to get them to stop the cheque, reactivate my account, add the lost interest and then reissue new cheque by registered post. Its now the 27th July and none of the people I spoke to have bothered to take ownership or take any action. I wrote to their Chairman twice with no response, I contacted the Ombudsman (who wrote to them) but still no response. Phoned the same person I contacted back on the 19th July (he doesn't seem to recollect and asked me to remind him what the problem was). He even claimed that the person who sent the letter on the 6th July had left the company and didn't know how she could still be signing letters. Absolutely farcical and I will never do business with Nationwide again. A truly shocking level of customer service where obviously the root cause are poor uncontrolled processes and systems (very scary indeed if its your money getting lost!!)
