Compact, looks like a book on shelf, almost silent, self starts when computer switched on. Fairly fast in USB2, writing at over 1GB per minute.
Bad Points
Formatted in FAT32, which is useless for backing up large files, so you have to reformat it to NTFS (which is recommended for Windows XP).
General Comments
Very pleased so far with my Western Digital My Book Essential Edition 250GB. I bought this along with Acronis True Image 10 software to back up my entire Hard Drive, and it has worked perfectly.
