Can't really think of anything good to say about Air France
Abysmal on flight entertainement, extremely rude staff and little to no customer service.
I will never fly Air France again. This was the second time I have taken this route with Air France, and I am a fool to myself for booking up with them again,
In flight, the customer service is practically non existent throughout the flight. You get served 2 meals on the flight, the quality of both was poor and bland in taste and you were served in a hurried unfriendly way. After that, there were no drinks runs through the flight so thats 10.5 hours and 2 drinks.
The worst case of customer service came on the return flight while waiting to board the plane. After checking in at Caracas, there was an extremely long wait to get through passport contrio and security due to the fact that only 1 of the hand luggage x-ray machines was working. That meant everyone entering the international departure lounge for various flights had to go through the same machine. This meant it took about 5 hrs from checking in to getting through, and by the time I was through, my flight had been scheduled to leave. As the clock ticked over, you could see representatives from all the other Airlines going up and down reassuring their customers their flight would not leave without them, while Air France customers were not communicated with at all, and I was anxious and a bit concerned the flight had left leaving me in a very dangerous capital with limited funds. It was only when I got through security that I saw someone from Air France and they said they were waiting. I just don't see why they could not let people in the queue know as it certainly caused me a lot of anxiety.
The 10.5hr flight was one of the most mundane 10.5hrs in my life. On board entertainment was limited to say the least, however is was practically zero for English speakers. Air France have a policy of getting films made in Hollywood in the English language then dubbing them into every language under the sun, while not leaving a channel on the language selector for the language they were made in. This meant any English speakers had to rely on subtitles which is not ideal. The plane was quite old and there were no monitors on the seats in from on you so it was a struggle to read the subtitles in the first place. Also, only 2 film were shown throughout the journey.
As far as my connecting flight from London to Paris was concerned, the one departing were a little late, however they were typical of what you can expect on any short haul flight.
