General Comments

We stayed 2 weeks during July 2007. Our first impact of the hotel as we arrived was stunning and for us that 'WOW!' feeling never went away. We had a truly fantastic time. Ours was the "basic" - a 'prestige' room (all the rooms face the beach) The room fittings were superb (air con, glass basins, walk in shower etc) and throughout our stay it was superbly well maintained by a team of staff - flowers on the bed every night was a really nice touch. We stayed half board and the food was another great experience. The main restaurant offers a buffet service - the choice was almost too much with Mauritian, Chinese, English and Indian Menus (every night) and it was all excellent - there are at least three other restaurants on the site as well. The most outstanding aspect though was the staff. The service at Belle Mare Plage is the best we've ever experienced anywhere. Wherever you are around the hotel (including on the beach) there is someone close at hand for anything you need. No-one is 'pushy' and everyone is polite - it's great! In addition to the golf (there are two golf courses) the hotel provides a whole lot of activities free (water skiing, glass bottom boat, snorkeling etc) plus there's other things like diving available on site. We didn't/don't play golf but that didn't affect our stay here. Absolutely the best place we have ever found - we will be going back there and we would recommend it to anyone.
