The Giant African Snail we have is a fantastic pet to have (he is called Gary after the Sponge Bob Square Pants character). We have had no problems since owning one, and it's a good pet for the kids. It teaches them some responsibility and basic care for animals. He seems to love creeping up the kids arms lol
Bad Points
When I looked in to say hi to GARY a couple of days ago, there was a lot (80+) of little snails in there. We have had Gary for 2 years, and this has never happened before. Now I have to find out if we keep them in the same tank together or not. So think about this when getting a Giant African Land Snail (it's not really a bad point though, as the kids think it's amazing that Gary sneaked out of his tank and went on a date, and came back with children :)
General Comments
If anyone knows if the baby Giant African Land Snails should be separated from their dad/mum please can you let me know?
