themilkybarkid's Review of Nokia E61

Overall Rating
- Value for money

I lost my old basic Nokia - I was with O2 PAYGO spending around £15-£20 a month on top ups.
I saw an offer from 3 network 250 mins any network and time, plus 50 texts plus free phone on an 18month contract. I was going to get any basic phone then I saw this Nokia E61 on offer.
The E61 is not really a mobile phone: it's a phone, a PC with internet, email and WiFI, it's an 'iPod' for music and photos, and a personal organiser - all in one! And it does all of these things very well.
I've just been all over Wales and the reception with 3 was excellent - I was able to check email anytime anwhere without needing my laptop.
Bad Points
The phone doesn't have a camera - also doesn't make bread and can't make coffee!
I'm used to Palm software so I downloaded Papyrus (£10) as it's a lot better than the calendar that came with the E61
The gismo needs a cover to protect the large screen - I bought a crystal case from ebay £3 - it's excellent value and surprisingly looks good.
the qwerty keyboard takes a few days to get used to.
General Comments
If you just want a nice looking mobile phone that is small and easy to carry and takes nice photos don't buy the Nokia E61. If you want a diary, a to do list, an address book, a phone, a music library, a photo album, a gismo that can receive and send emails, check the internet, do documents, Powerpoint, spreadsheets and more then the E61 comes highly recommended!
