Machine was not infected by any viruses during the subscription
Program acts like a virus, continually slowing down the machine, refuses to uninstall when asked, crashing, preventing reasonable reboot times, frequently fails to protect, and is unable to trace its licence, requiring an uninstall to get it working again.
McAfee VirusScan Home Edition 8.0 used to be OK, but the last year has been a nightmare, I have spent hours reinstalling perhaps a dozen times.
Then to make matters worse there is a thing in the small print which they use to recharge your credit card each year to get the next subscription. They do this without asking, and even do it after your card has expired even when you refuse to give them new card details, a matter I have taken up with my cards financial fraud unit.
