Good Points

If you get a good one you'll be fine. Get a bad one, and like any car you'll be upset with the amount of money you've spent on it getting it right. I've had my car for 2.5 years and nothing has gone wrong, apart from alternator after fitting 3 stereo amps has gone wrong. I got my car standard and modified it myself and I'm very happy with it, apart from the lack of boot space, especially after fitting rear strut brace and getting funny looks by the Police, but that may be my exhaust which is a little loud.

Bad Points

Can be hard to fix if you're not used to the car. If you're a member of the clubs you'll get any parts cheap secondhand and even some stuff new, people say the boxes are weak, maybe they're not the strongest but for 2 years and 320 bhp with very hard driving mine has been fine. I suppose its how its been driven for the last 15 years, I'm sure in any car thrashed after 15 years the box will go, if not the engine.

General Comments

Takes very well to mods, the engines are very strong, as well as the the 4 wheel drive system. Just the boxes are known to go but like I said above mines been fine and my mate has 380 bhp for 5 years and still on the same box, the standard intercooler if sat in traffic for 5 mins will get hot and sap power but soon cools, and you can get front mounted versions for £200 now, the brakes are bad, but fitting good pads helps improve them, also there are many uprated kits available for these cars. My favorite thing about this car, apart from a buzz whenever I drive it, is beating BMW M3's, Porsches, Subaru's, Mitsubishi Evos, Astons etc. off the lights.
