addy771's Review of Nintendo GameCube Console
21st Jul 2007
Overall Rating
- Value for money

- Graphics

- Date of Purchase (MM/YY)03/03
- Range Of Games

The console is small, aesthetically pleasing, and easy to work with. The range of games is very vast, and there are many 10/10 games for the Nintendo Gamecube. Multiplayer is quite fun, and easy.
Also, the console is very durable, and rated the highest in a test against an Xbox and a PS2.
Bad Points
Controller buttons get worn over a few years, not a major problem, and only applies to the control sticks.
General Comments
I've seen complaints about backwards compatibility, and that it doesn't play DVD's.
First off, how do you expect the Gamecube to be backwards compatible, when the last console used cartridges? When the Gamecube was made, CD's were a much better medium of storage, and took much less space. If you expected Nintendo to keep using cartridges just for backwards compatibility, you're nuts. If you really want to play the old games, buy an N64, they don't cost much at yard sales.
Secondly, of course it doesn't play DVD's/CD's. The only reason people would want that is because of it's popularization by Sony and Microsoft. A game console should NEVER be expected to play DVD's/ CD's, Why not buy a proper DVD player, which is less then $40 these days.
Overall, the Nintendo Gamecube is a console I'll never be replacing. It's comfortable, and powerful.
On average, people found this review very helpful
