Good Points
An enormous number of people on it
Lots of groups, communities and networks
Public and private messaging
Photos and photo tagging
Loads of different applications
Very clean
No spam that i've experienced

General Comments
Facebook www.facebook.com is an amazing social networking site where you can keep in touch with friends, get back in touch with old school friends colleagues etc and make new friends. Its possible to add photos, tag friends in photos, send private messages, send public messages (wall messages) join groups and communities, add applications and much more. Unlike myspace its much cleaner, you can't customise it aesthetically in the same way but you can change a lot of privacy setting which is very useful.

I'd highly recommend joining www.facebook.com and using it to keep in touch with people and keep track of events and communities that you're interested in.
