The small branches have got rid of their counter service!!
General Comments
I graduated this month and got a leaflet for HSBC saying once my account changed to Graduate they would impose an interest charge of 9.9% overdrafts (very sly of them to give you one for £1750) I asked a branch when this would take affect - NO IDEA was the answer - I should have received a letter (No letter) They then tried to push the graduate plus account. They charge £10/month for the privilege of an interest free O/draft and some other minor bits like free travel insurance - wonderful - or better mortgage rates. Not that any student will have the money to buy for the next 100 years anyway!!!
Poor handling of stolen cards - kept sending huge lists of transactions threatening to debit them from my account (about £600 every 4days) even though it was reported stolen and they sent me a new card!! Had told them numerous times to stop sending it and forward them to the police - that took 2 months!!
All in all poor treatment from a massive corporation who should know better - and that's being nice!!!
