Good Points

Accurate, great build quality, good power.

Bad Points

Not cheap BUT...

General Comments

Yes the Webley Tempest.22 is not a cheap gun but it's a winner. VERY accuarate and built to last. I have a lot of CO2 guns and this is better than all of them for accuracy. The only gun that beats this is a Brocock .22 air cartridge pistol. (Stunning power & accuracy but about to be outlawed in the UK!) The Tempest has a great feel, gives you a LOT of good exercise in cocking and for a .177 hits hard. Buy it. It may be losing ground to a CO2 range of guns but once you give it a try you will want one. In fact, I am seriously thinking of giving up on the CO2's. This gun is THAT good! For improving your aim there is NOTHING better at this price or power.

This review has been helpful. I am about to buy the Tempest. The only question is if there is any difference between the Beeman Webley and the straight Webley Tempest.

  2. Boris Rank: Lieutenant on 17th Jan 2004

The Beeman Tempest, if I remember correctly, has a slightly stronger spring and in .177(4.5 mm) it will send a 7.5 grain pellet out at about 450 feet per sec , whilst the UK Tempest manages about 410 fps.

Putting a very thin washer on the spring guide beneath the main spring allows it to rotate when being cocked and when fired and is much smoother.Add a little PTFE/Moly grease (very light grease) around the spring and guide to give a smoother action too.
Prometheus .22(5.56mm) pellets being self lubricating and very light even in .22 size) will give you an increase of about 20% in muzzle velocity - and are non-toxic and the centre is hard and penetrating( for those of you who enjoy killing for its own sake.)
