Good Points

Fantastic salesman who spent a total of 30 minutes measuring up, giving me an estimate and...no hard sell!
Quality surveyor who didn't do the usual thing of scratching his chin and telling me that the 2 big windows (7.5 feet each) would cost more.
Up front and honest
5 Windows fitted within just over 5 hours
No mess left except for a bit of hovering which is to be entirely expected
Hard working fitters. I filled my fridge with sarnies and also put out crisps, biscuits, coffee, tea etc. and told them to help themselves. They made themselves a few cups of tea and that was it, despite my prompting throughout the day to help themselves. A real hard working crew.
One of the sealed units was cracked whilst bringing it up to my third floor flat. Why is this a good point? Because the guy in charge told me immediately, pointed out the window to me and told me it would be replaced within 7 days and that he had already made the call to make up the new sealed replacement unit. That unit was duly replaced within 7 days, as promised, with no fuss and no bother.

Bad Points

Some of the external beading was not properly seated so started to pop out. I phoned the CEO on Saturday to point this out as I was rather in a panic when I noticed this. He came out on Sunday and fixed it and apologized for this so perhaps this small complaint sits between good points and bad points. Either way, I bet a big national firm wouldn't have bothered to come out the very next day to fix this problem so a big thumbs up to Diamond Windows and especially the CEO! My only real niggle is with the scaffolding company who today took down the scaffolding and left me with a half inch scratch on the outside pane of my bathroom window. However, this falls within the bottom lower left of the window and appears to be only a scratch, not a crack, so I can live with that.

General Comments

Okay, so I've only had my replacement windows for the last 12 days so I would not expect to encounter any major problems with them. I don't count the cracked unit as a problem as accidents can happen and also that was pointed out to me immediately by the fitting crew and was fixed just as they said it would be. The fact that some of the external beading was not properly fitted was of some concern to me but the CEO of the company himself called out the very next day after I had spotted this and put it right. I just wonder how many other double glazing companies would be so quick to rectify such problems? As for the quality of the windows I am, thus far, very pleased. They do exactly what they say on the tin: insulates my flat against both cold and heat, solid build, good security locking and keeps out the noise. In fact after single glazed windows I am amazed at the sound insulation of these windows. The day after they were installed was a very windy day. With my former single glazed and ill fitting windows I would have felt every little draft creeping in through the cracks and heard the wind like it was a hurricane. With my new windows I didn't' even realize how windy it was until I opened one of the windows because I could barely hear a thing!

Bottom line: would I recommend Diamond Windows to others? Definitely!
