Good Points

Brews a great cup of coffee

Bad Points

Costs an arm and leg to get repaired (if you can get Saeco to respond). Takes constant maintenance. Having second problem in three years. First one (computer failure) cost $275.

General Comments

Vitali, the writer of the first review, must work for Saeco or he just got the machine. I actually have the Vienna DeLuxe, which is almost the same machine. I've had good luck until a computer failure. It took the repair facility two months to get a replacement part, which totaled $275 or half the cost of the machine! Now I have a problem with the water not being hot enough. Do I spend another $275 or get a different machine. Emails to Saeco go unanswered and I can't find a good source of trouble shooting information or parts. The machine requires frequent maintenance to keep it going, which, for me, is not a problem. However, for the average housewife, it could be a daunting task. It is not a 'push the button and forget it' machine. I suspect most 'automatic' machines are the same. When it works, it does brew an excellent cup of coffee.

How is the water you are using in the machine as far as hardness? When was the last time you descaled your machine? Lime scale is the hardest thing on superautomatic espresso machines. This can lead to a boiler leaking. It can lower your boiler temperature and give you a colder espresso than normal. You may have a thermostat that is defective. You may have a loose wire. jerrya@aabree.com

We have been through 4 Saeco Deluxe
machines. Great Ideas (fully automatic) All 4 failed in different ways. One did not work at all. I miss having lattes at home, would love to find a machine that lasts longer than 6 months.
