General Comments

I've had my Webley Tempest for 3 years now and its as good today as it was then, its simply a classic and i will never get rid of the thing, for the past few months it has been laying in my bedside draw along with my g-10 repeater but the other day i got it out for a plinking session in the garden and it never fails to amaze me what a punch it still packs. I shot a starling and a sparrow within the space of half an hour and i just love the thing overall.

In Britain starlings are a protected species and shooting them is a criminal offence.

  2. Grandelfe Rank: Sergeant on 17th Jul 2007

Over here they are a despised pest, and are to be shot on sight.

I assume that "over here" means USA. The starling is an introduced species in North America and so I can understand it being a pest. We have the same problem with the North American grey squirrel, which has almost eradicated our native red squirrel.

The starling is an indigenous species in Europe, hence its legal protection in Britain.

I live in BC, Canada, and the "Grey Squirrel" is a worst pest than the starling. They are introduced here as well, and have displaced our small native squirrels. We mess with nature and then pay the price.

    That's the truth!

Air guns can be fun for target shooting but not much fun for inoccent birds, you would not Im sure like to be concidered a pest by a passing starling with revenge in mind.
