Good Points

Clean aircraft and, with a few exceptions, friendly cabin crew. Good entertainment. Cheap fares.

Customer service.


General Comments

I have now flown from Manchester to Johannesburg on 2 occasions with Swiss Air. I have found them generally efficient until my experience this morning. On arriving in Manchester my husband and I, along with the majority of the other travellers were told that our baggage would be arriving on the following flight and be with us later today. We have now discovered, at 8pm, that our baggage will not be with us until tomorrow (we contacted them to chase - not visa versa).

Unfortunately this has completely soured our opinion of Swiss Air and has ensured that those affected do not feel as though they are valued customers. My husband and I travel regularly for both business and pleasure, but will now rather pay slightly more to receive satisfactory service should there be any problems. I would also note that no compensation for basics was offered - when travelling to New Zealand with Singapore Air I was given compensation immediately so that I was able to buy the essentials such as clean underwear and toiletries at no cost to myself when my bag was delayed.

I would therefore be very reluctant to recommend Swiss Air to potential future customers.
