The pool and beach are great! Although if you want lounger space, be sure to place your towels before nine o'clock. There is a very wide range of food and a friend who came along (usually fussy eater) found something different to eat each night. There are 3 wonderful a la carte restaurants, which are definitely worth a visit since they are free. The entertainers and generally most of the staff are really friendly and love the jobs they do. There are plenty of activities for both children and adults. There are also many trips outside of the resort for an extra cost. Camel riding is a must! The weather is always amazing but make sure you use a high factor for the first couple of days as the nice breeze hides the strong UV rays. There is a general mix of British, German and French groups at the hotel. The cleanliness of the rooms is outstanding. A maid will clean your room everyday unless you use the Do Not Disturb sign provided.
The drinks in the club but not the bar seem watered down, so if the plan is to get drunk it may take you a few! The people around the hotel selling things get pesky but a stern no soon sends them away again. The all inclusive rules aren't made too clear to begin with but once you've figured them out it's all go from there. The pool gets crowded in the morning and late afternoon so the best thing to do is get a lounger further away, unless you are with children.
I would recommend this hotel to anybody looking for culture, relaxation and fun rolled into one but be warned! This is not 5 star accommodation! The 3 stars are all it's worth but if you don't expect to be waited on hand and foot then it's not a problem. There are queues and lots of people at times but what do you expect in such a popular resort? There isn't much around the hotel. There is a shop of food and souvenirs, a bar and club but the all inclusive pretty much takes up your time. I wouldn't recommend more than a week, as it will get boring. Overall I would come back to the Houda Beach Club. I would definitely come back to Tunisia because the culture is so different and the weather is so amazing!
