Good Points

Nice looking car, seemed great, lots of promises. Sales man didn't seem to want to let us go home empty handed.

Bad Points

Car Engine Control Unit (ECU) gave up one month after purchase. No one will change the car and we have to pay the £5980 for a car worth £2000 on the normal market. We've received phone calls threatening repossession, which we are contemplating letting them do (even though it will damage our credit rating in the long term) just to get rid of this useless car that has sat looking pretty on my drive for 2 months. It had to be towed to a garage and is still waiting for the warranty to come through. The company want to know whether they will get payed before they will start the work that needs doing! Approved Car Finance are refusing to exchange the car until we reach 9 months, we are currently only in month 3! So we have to pay loads to keep a car that doesn't work. And how are we supposed to exchange it, tow it to them? We live miles away!

General Comments

When we phoned Approved Car Finance, we were promised a car and cash back so we rode on trains and buses for nearly 45 miles to wait for 3 hours. We were then told our cash back paid half the deposit and we needed to pay a further £350 on top to get the car plus £99 deposit on car insurance before we drove it home. We were of course very excited as we had tried to get cars elsewhere. We paid out in good faith and were given one choice of car so we of course took it as we had no way of getting home and didn't fancy hours of public transport with tired babies for the long journey home, plus the fact that carrying the car seats that far was difficult enough. To top this off we only have a provisional license and had no full licensed driver with us. The children were hungry and we were all tired so we drove the car home and parted with our Social Loan money. Everything was looking on the up. However, 3 months later no working car and only a little closer to passing our tests. No car and no one wants to help us. Does anyone have any advice?
