Good Points

The Daewoo DS608P is very easy to set up and use. The RF output will tune itself in to your TV. Menus and user interface are clearly laid out and intuitive. If you can use a handset at all you won't need the instruction manual.

Bad Points

Seems to be locked on 2K carrier input and also appears to have a scan limit of 6 Muxes.
The high pitched screeching/chirping sound it makes when bits of the audio stream are lost is VERY irritating.

General Comments

As far as the 2K carrier thing and 6 muxes goes, in GB this probably wont matter, as all your transmitters only carry up to 6 muxes and all (so far anyway) your digital channels have a 2K subcarrier bandwidth. But over here in Ireland the Irish DTT service which started later than yours, uses an 8K carrier. So far we've only got 4 muxes, but combined with the 6 UK ones the receiver needs to be able to deal with 10 or more! I had a prototype of the 608P for trials before the production model was released and it seemed to have a much more stable tuner, with this one it seems the slightest thing at all will knock it off. Ideal for insomniacs who can watch TV when all other sources of electrical disturbance are gone for the night.

I have had no problems at all with this box until now! I appear to have lost the sound on all my channels yet the pictures are perfect! I have tried re-tuning it as per the book but nothing different happens. Any ideas anyone? PS I'm not very technical minded so keep it simple please?
