Good Points
Very good DOP! Use of no name actors, made it possible to truly add to the ultimate creation of the story and situation. Use of original language, or at least a contemporary reconstruction. Authentic feel to it. Bed Track amazing if you got the 5,1 setup.
Bad Points
Subtitles are a bit tough to bare when you want to see the expression of the players faces. Ultra Violent.
General Comments
This movie is tough for the general audience, because of the following reasons: 1. Our contemporary society is far different to the society that is being depicted. 2. There was not an adequate time taken to generate empathy for main character(s). 3. The Tribe society is generally looked down upon by us modern internet folk as being backward and unsophisticated, making it not at all surprising that they bash each other with blunt instruments. To truly understand the the goings on, some research should be done in order to understand the goings on. The film to me is a bit of Experimental/Ethno Archaeology, since the recreation is for the viewer. The vivid colours, high quality film, angle of shoots, use of atmospheric music all adds to the extra-ordinary 'slice of life' happenings in Central America circa 1490's.
